(We're not sure of a date for this picture. Any ideas? must be after 1869)
The Crown Inn is a Grade II listed former Coaching Inn the oldest parts of which date
back to the early 1500’s, retaining many of it’s original features particularly
in the heavily beamed Bar and Dining area. It also has a later brick
built edition dating to 1869 originally used as stabling and guest
accommodation and more recently as a Function Room and workshops.
Closed by Greene King in April 2009 and purchased by us (Ian & Amanda) in
February 2011 it remained empty and boarded up during this period. The interior has now been completely refurbished and we have started work on the exterior (we are rather madly doing most of the work ourselves!) we
are now open Thursday & Friday evenings, Saturdays & Sundays for food &
drink (Please see opening times) . In addition we also offer home grown plants for
sale.
It has been our aim to create a traditional family friendly village pub. The old pool/games room has been converted into a dining room which also doubles up as a function room. The dartboard remains but has moved backed to it's original home in the tap room.
